These beans come from Bukyabo smallholders in Sironko Disctrict in Uganda. 89 micro-lots are serviced by 'The Coffee Gardens' who pay at least 10% above market price for the cherries. They wash the beans at their station in Bukyabo.
The Coffee Gardens Project has been established with many purposes such as to improve farmer's income and livelihoods. It creates and provides rural employment, promote gender equality, increase transparency and traceability throughout the supply chain and environmental protection in the area.
Three Bourbon-Typica Group beans make up this lot Nyasaland, SL14 and SL28, all specifically typical to this area of Africa. The resulting coffee from these micro-lots is a green apple & lime in milk chocolate start, with a praline and vanilla body.
